Since his first appearance on the nation’s TV screens a decade ago, the identity of Foxy – the iconic face of Foxy Bingo and Casino – has always been something of a mystery, much like The Stig, The X Factor voice-over guy and Mr Blobby.
However, now stepping out of the shadows and into the fluffy boots for the first time is the Hollywood A-lister and star of Boogie Nights (1997), The Hangover (2009 & 2013) and the upcoming Sky Atlantic comedy, Bliss (2017).
Heather, who is releasing her writing and directorial debut Half Magic later this year, will herald her return to British screens in a set of TV adverts premiering on 9th March at 8:15 PM, during the UK’s recently voted favourite soap, Emmerdale*.
In the first of a series of six tongue-in-cheek commercials that capture the random fun of casino playing, viewers will see the two-time SAG Award nominee perfecting her northern accent and offering the director suggestions for character development.
The Foxy character has been a fixture on UK screens for nearly a decade and is renowned for eccentric dance moves, snappy dressing and smooth northern charm, however, the person behind the persona has always been a closely guarded secret.
Speaking about the campaign, Heather Graham said:
“I love comedy and I love British wit. When they told me I would get to play Foxy, I loved the idea and thought it was hilarious. I especially loved wearing the tail. I wish I could have kept the tail! I’ve never gotten to play a man or a fox so it was a big challenge.”
Adele Lawton Group Head of Bingo at Foxy’s parent company, GVC Holdings added:
“Our partnership with Heather Graham is the largest phase of a £10 million brand re-vamp and marketing campaign which will bring Foxy to a new generation of players. Heather is the embodiment of our mantra: ‘Random. Fun.’ and today’s announcement marks a new era for Foxy Bingo and Casino.”
Heather is now the face of Foxy Bingo and Casino, with the new partnership running into 2018. Today’s announcement is the latest step in a brand realignment with Foxy recently announcing an end to its long-standing sponsorship of The Jeremy Kyle Show.
